Katy Brand

Whilst studying at Oxford University, Katy was part of the Oxford Revue and was writing and performing comedy, musicals and straight plays. After graduating, she worked in TV production for around five years, running, researching and APing on many different shows.

In 2004, Katy returned to performing with comedy monologues and live sketch show Ealing Live! Her Edinburgh show “Celebrities are Gods” garnered attention from TV producers in 2005, resulting in her own sketch show Katy Brand’s Big Ass Show on ITV, winning her “Best Comedy Newcomer” at British Comedy Awards in 2008. She has performed and appeared in a wide array of TV, Film and Radio programmes as well as acting in feature films such as Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang.

She has written 3 books, Brenda Monk is Funny, I Carried a Watermelon and Practically Perfect. Her first feature film script Good Luck to You, Leo Grande is currently in post-production, starring Emma Thompson and directed by Sophie Hyde.
